Roots of Unity - Description of our Family Connections Program

Visitations through our Family Connections Program

How it works:
Visits follow best practices for safety, connection, and developmentally appropriate engagement. Plans are set through the child’s individualized service plan with input from the child (as appropriate), parents, foster caregivers, and social workers. Facilitators document observations to support case planning and reunification efforts.
Benefits
Helps maintain normalcy and attachment, which can expedite reunification .Improves well-being outcomes for children and parents. Provides a reliable, welcoming place for sibling contact.

Purpose:
To reduce the trauma of out-of-home care by preserving the parent-child bond and supporting healthy sibling relationships in a warm, home-like setting.

What we offer:
Safe, child-friendly environment designed for meaningful family time (not a clinic or office). Trained facilitators to supervise visits and ensure safety, dignity, and cultural respect.
Supportive services such as coaching and guidance for caregivers to strengthen interactions and routines.
Frequent, consistent visits scheduled to meet the needs of the child and family.
